Due to the physical and economic devastation caused by Hurricane Ida--which comes on top of the loss of the fall festival season and widespread cancellation of gigs and event due to the spread of the Delta variant--we are once again working to provide Low Barrier Relief Grants to the cultural community (including musicians, artists, street performers, and traditional culture bearers). All donations to this fund will be used to provide mini-grants and connect community members to additional forms of aid.
These grants will operate in the same manner as our previous COVID-19 relief grants--we will be working with our partner organizations and accepting referrals to proactively identify and assist those most in need first--but we will also create an open application process when resources are available. Grants will be distributed as quickly as possible using CashApp, PayPal, or when requested and possible, a paper check. Grants are $250, and we will distribute as many as our funding allows. The more we raise, the more grants we can give.
