Bring Peanut Home!
Thaddeaus “Peanut” Ramsey has been stuck in Bermuda for almost a year

We are working with the family and supporters of Thaddeaus “Peanut” Ramsey to fundraise for legal fees needed to bring him home. He is an integral part of New Orleans’ cultural community, spy boy for the Black Feather Black Masking Indian tribe, big chief of Young Black Feather (2022), and a founding member of the Big 6 Brass Band. 100% of money raised will go directly to help Peanut.
Ramsey has been detained in Bermuda since April 21, 2023. While attempting to fly home to New Orleans, was stopped because he was carrying more cash Bermudian law allows you to travel with and did not declare it on his customs form. His passport and identification were subsequently confiscated, making him unable to leave the country. For nearly a year, Ramsey has been in legal limbo as his court date has been consistently pushed into the future with no end in sight. We have secured the services of one of Bermuda’s top criminal lawyers, Mark Pettingill, to take on the case.

Pettingill's firm requires a retainer to do their work, and it will also take money to fly Peanut home. We are asking for donations to assist in this effort so that Peanut can be reunited with his family, loved ones, and the community that needs and misses him.
We are calling on all supporters of New Orleans music to pitch in to bring Peanut home.
